Jessica and I were out driving around the other day when we came across these trees that had just a few icicles left in their tops after our recent storm that consisted of some freezing rain. They sure were beautiful, but they were pretty high up in the trees and all that was left were some tiny remnants of the ice that had been there. A "normal" picture just didn't convey the beauty of what we were seeing. So, I decided to try making a picture that was intentionally out of focus. And it did the trick! By softening the focus the picture went from just another boring shot of a tree top to something magical.
