Taken at Grand Portage State Park in northeast Minnesota. We've been watching this nest for the past few weeks wondering when we would see signs of the babies being born. Yesterday was the first time we saw them and today I spent some time watching the nest for a while to catch a feeding session and get some good photos. They sure are crazy looking little birds!

Photo of the moon over Trout and Swamp Lakes, taken a week ago today in Grand Portage, MN. A day of monumental change and the realization that some things are not at all what they seem while simultaneously being reminded that there are things we can always count on without fail.

The Liberian bulk carrier "Olza" at anchor in the moonlight in Thunder Bay harbour on Lake Superior. Sure was a beautiful sight to see the moonlight reflections on the water along with the lights from the ship.

Taken early last month during the first decent night of northern lights we've experienced in a while. For a long time the lights were not very bright or bold, but the stars sure were! It was so calm that night the reflections on the surface of the lake were surreal.

So many forest roads... and so little time to explore them all. I love seeing how the character of each road is different from the next. And experiencing them from the seat of the bike is the best way to go. You really appreciate everything along the way.
