Mineral King Valley and Farewell Gap

For my second full day in California we hiked up to White Chief Canyon in Sequoia National Park.  Right from the start it was an unbelievably beautiful hike.  The Mineral King Valley looks like a mountain paradise as soon as you start out on the trail.  The trail didn't stay on the valley floor for long though.  Just minutes after we started hiking the trail started to climb the ridge on the right and we were treated to awesome views of the valley floor and the surrounding mountains.  It was the start of another unforgettable day in California!
