These photos are from the summer, but I never got around to doing anything with them until now. A friend and I had gone to Grand Marais for the evening and we were excited to see the research vessel Kiyi tied to the breakwall out near the lighthouse. After sunset, the sky took on a beautiful hue with a hint of purple, and the vessel looked so cool in that light. Earlier in the evening, the sun was blocked by this cloud and all of the light rays coming through the cloud looked incredible. Some nice surprises on an evening where I wasn't really expecting to make any photographs!
